If asked who has emerged as the dark horse in Zhongshan’s commercial landscape over the past two years, it would undoubtedly be Zhongshan Fuyicheng TopPark, which opened on September 8, 2024. This stunning new urban landmark on the western shore of the Greater Bay Area, brimming with fashion, art, and sophistication, marks a significant leap forward for Zhongshan’s modern service industry.
Guangdong Guangxiu Engineering Co., Ltd. was honored to contribute to this dark horse’s remarkable ascent. We fully undertook the implementation of TopPark’s series of water feature projects, from the 20-meter digital water curtain cascading through the atrium, to the double-layered digital water curtain along the inner street, and the creative plaza dry fountain themed “Tide Rising in Zhongshan.” to the water filtration system for the rooftop splash pool. Guangdong Guangxiu has unified the city through water, invigorated it with water, and captivated the masses with water’s myriad transformations.
Opening Day Success Living Up to the City’s Expectations
Zhongshan Fuyi City TopPark is located at the intersection of Changjiang North Road and Sun Wen East Road, with a business area of 180,000 square meters. It is currently the largest single leisure shopping center in Zhongshan in terms of business area. The project has attracted over 200 well-known domestic and foreign brands to settle in, among which more than 30% are brands entering Zhongshan for the first time, covering multiple fields such as international fashion, light luxury accessories, trendy sports, stylish catering, and boutique supermarkets.
Data reveals that leveraging its formidable brand appeal and distinctive commercial positioning, Fuyicheng TopPark secured multiple performance records as the top performer in Zhongshan, South China, and even nationwide on its opening day, demonstrating strong commercial competitiveness and consumption power. This remarkable achievement underscores the urgent demand among Zhongshan residents for high-quality, next-generation commercial experiences amid the era of Greater Bay Area integration.
Using water as ink to paint a prosperous scene
The design inspiration for the Zhongshan Fuyicheng Project comes from “high mountains and flowing water”. It incorporates the rhythmic lines of Wuma Peak and the Yangtze River Reservoir into its design concept. Coupled with Zhongshan’s first over-300-meter-long “Playful Koi” themed commercial pedestrian street, it creates an urban landscape where natural water flows and urban architecture harmoniously blend, and builds an ecological, artistic and natural urban art commercial space.
It can be said that water is the soul of Fuyicheng’s design and one of the keys to Fuyicheng’s success in achieving a commercial breakthrough.
Water Feature (I): Atrium Digital Water Curtain – A Symphony of Tranquility and Elegance
Stepping into the commercial atrium of Zhongshan Fuyicheng TopPark, a dynamic and static digital water curtain painting unfolds slowly. We utilize advanced numerical control technology to precisely control the landing point and speed of each drop of water, creating a quiet and elegant atmosphere. This is more than just a water curtain—it is a melodious symphony. The gentle patter of falling water harmonizes perfectly with the mall’s background music, immersing visitors in nature’s embrace and offering a rare moment of tranquility and sophistication.
(3) Difficult construction: The project involves high-altitude operations. Additionally, the atrium has a hollow structure, resulting in narrow operating space. Therefore, the construction is extremely difficult, and it is also an important technological breakthrough in the industry.
(4) Low noise, splash-proof: A splash-proof sound-absorbing device designed for ultra-high-drop water curtains. Guangdong Guangxiu Company adopted a rigorous and responsible approach, opting for tangible on-site experiments and testing as the breakthrough point for solving the problem. They developed and refined a noise-reducing splash-proof net mounting frame. Through multiple trials, this solution significantly reduced noise from high-altitude waterfalls while achieving maximum splash prevention—ensuring not a single drop of water reached the ground after a ten-meter fall.
Moreover, by paving decorative particles like blue crystals in the water collection pool, we not only meet the functional requirements of noise reduction and sound absorption but also achieve a romantic and dreamy landscape effect.
Water Feature (Part 2): Digital Water Curtain on the Inner Street – A Collision of Fashion and Technology
Project Highlights:
(1) Integrated module design: A system-integrated module host is adopted, integrating the water tank with the drive sub-machine module, power supply, LED light source, solenoid valve, and spray head, thus featuring stability and high efficiency.
Water Feature (III): Creative Square Dry Fountain – Ode to the Rising Tides of Zhongshan’s Waters
Coming to the commercial plaza of Fuyi City TopPark, the dry fountain design here is undoubtedly the finishing touch of the entire water feature scheme. Based on the site layout of the commercial plaza and combined with the regional cultural characteristics of Zhongshan, we have created a highly interactive and participatory dry fountain performance. Through sound, light and water programming technology, we showcase the artistry of the water feature landscape and interpret the profound cultural connotations of Zhongshan.
As night falls, lights and water columns intertwine, transforming the entire plaza into a shimmering sea. Visitors become utterly captivated, lingering long after dusk.

(1) “The Tide Rises in Zhongshan” themed design: Zhongshan City, historically known as Xiangshan, is the hometown of the great man Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It remains the only city in China named after a national hero. Fuyi Industrial, with a history spanning over 20 years, has become a comprehensive urban and real estate operation brand rooted in Zhongshan and with the deepest understanding of Zhongshan’s culture.
(1) “Tide Rising in Zhongshan” Theme Design: Zhongshan City, historically known as Xiangshan, is the birthplace of the great leader Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It remains the only city in China named after a national hero. Over two decades, Fuyi Industrial has become a comprehensive urban and real estate operation brand deeply rooted in Zhongshan, embodying the city’s cultural essence.
The dry fountain at Zhongshan Fuyi City adopts “Tide Rising in Zhongshan” as one of its design themes. Featuring a rectangular layout with straight horizontal and vertical lines, it employs custom design and programming. This allows it to create hollow spaces resembling immersive mini-theaters for visitor interaction and experience. Simultaneously, dancing water columns form the characters “Zhongshan” when viewed from above, paying tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s legacy. It sings the city’s anthem, symbolizing Zhongshan’s readiness to ride the surging tide of the Greater Bay Area’s development. Here, the world encounters the “New Zhongshan.”
(2) Low Voltage + Purification for Enhanced Safety: This dry fountain includes 192 jade column water-type sprinklers, with a single pump and single sprinkler design. It is equipped with a total of 192 24V low-voltage pumps. In addition, 192 24V DMX512 low-voltage underwater lights are used, combined with a water quality filtration and purification system, to provide all-round safety protection, allowing children to play and splash in the water to their heart’s content with peace of mind.
